The Way of the Cross developed as a devotion that appealed to people unable to undertake a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Fourteen ‘stations’ mark moments in Jesus journey to Calvary and his burial. The addition of a fifteenth ‘Resurrection’ station in recent times and the development of alternate scriptural stations enhance this way of journeying with Jesus and help us to seek to accompany him in his Passion.
