Survey on Sacred Space
Sacred Space values the opinions of all who use the site. From time to time we have asked users of the site about aspects of Sacred Space and about prospective developments. (We are currently rebuilding the site in line with the insight gained from previous surveys that led to an exploratory version of the daily prayer.)
We are now happy to invite users of the site to participate in an academic study that is being carried out by a Jesuit. The survey involves eighteen questions and will take about twenty minutes of your time. Details of the survey are presented here and a link to the survey is at the bottom of this page.

Title of the dissertation:
What is the aim of the study?
The aim of the study is to discover if the use of the Sacred Space website corresponds to a distinct form of spirituality or if it is only a tool for spiritual practice. It is intended to achieve its aim by researching the spiritual practice of people who use the Sacred Space website for prayer.
Who is the researcher?
Krzysztof Nowak is a Jesuit and a student of Applied Christian Spirituality at All Hallows College in Dublin, Ireland. The researcher previously studied philosophy and theology. He is interested in new technologies, the reality of the Internet and of multimedia and their potential for creating space for the authentic human experience of communication, interaction, sharing and community. In his present studies he is attempting to link his interests to spirituality, which plays a key role in human existence.
What is involved in participating in the study?
The researcher is using an online survey as a method of gathering data. The users of the Sacred Space website who decide to participate in the study will be asked to respond to a series of questions. The researcher is interested in the quality of the responses. For that reason most of the questions are open-ended, giving the possibility of free expression to the participants. Participation in the survey is voluntary.
Will the information you give in the study be confidential?
Your participation is anonymous. You will not be asked to disclose any personal information which may identify you. Any information you give will be held in strictest confidence. The information will be stored securely for the duration of the course and for a period of time beyond. The findings of the study will be presented as a thesis for my studies and may be published in relevant reports, books or articles.
