A prayer for my departed

We believe that Jesus died and rose again, so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have died believing in him.
1 Thessalonians 4:14

I ask you, Lord,
to reward my departed
with the grace of your presence.
I give you thanks
for the memories that inspire.
I ask your healing for hurts,
your forgiveness for sins,
and trust in your promise of eternal life.

As I recall the blessings you have given to me,
I pray that I may grow each day
in awareness of your continuing goodness.

As I pray now, recalling ,
help me to be compassionate to all who mourn
as we wait for the coming of your Kingdom.
